Stories Along the Way
I was born in Afghanistan where my father was an ophthalmologist and my mother was a homemaker and volunteer. With four older brothers to chase after, my life was never dull!

Our family had to leave Afghanistan shortly before the Soviet invasion in 1979 and flew directly to Sierra Leonne where my father worked at a hospital for a year. After about a year in the States, we moved to Pakistan where my parents ended up working in Peshawar with the Afghan refugees and my brother and I went to boarding school in Murree Christian School until our graduations.

After getting an elementary and special education degree at Tabor College in Kansas, I taught in Kansas for seven years. During this time, I married Gerald Reimer, a CPA, and we began our lives together in the Topeka area. We later welcomed our two daughters, Katrina and Kendra.
Moving to Ifrane, Morocco in 2006 was a career and continent change for Gerald as he became a professor of accounting. After eleven years in Morocco, six of which I returned to teaching and did some school administration, we returned to the USA and settled in Siloam Springs, Arkansas where we live and work now. We have since added a Moroccan daughter to our family named Abir.

I tell you my story because as hard as I try to explain countries and events referenced in my blogs, you might need to pop over to this page to explain what on earth (literally) is going on!
